The story of Rob & Laura is a perfect example that love can overcome all difficulties, including living apart for thousands of miles with a lot of water in between. Rob & Laura met several years ago, he is from Holland and she is from the USA, but apart from their very different backgrounds they found common ground in their hearts.
We are so proud and honored that they chose us to tell of small part of their story. Their reverend sums it all up:
Last October finally their day begun. We flew to the United Sates of America to photograph and film the wedding. They planned to marry in the Indian Summer where Connecticut is well-known for. And Indian Summer it was! The colors were absolutely amazing.
We were traveling with Rob the day before the wedding from NYC to Watertown Connecticut, Laura's hometown, to check out all the locations and the Wadsworth Mansion where the party was happening. That evening we had the rehearsal in the Gateway Bible Church. After that a great rehearsal dinner with all the special guests followed. We felt very welcome with this group of kind and warm hearted people!
The morning of the wedding day we started with Rob, followed by some pictures with his groomsmen at the Wadsworth Mansion. After that we drove to Laura to capture her preparations with her bridesmaids. The church followed where they had their first look when Laura walked down the aisle with her dad. I really, really love these moments. After an intimate and beautiful ceremony we went to the Wadsworth Mansion where there was some time for a shoot with Rob and Laura together. We were lucky to catch the golden hour, which was a perfect end of the shoot if you'll ask me. And then the party started! We enjoyed all the delicious food, the wedding cake which was all over Rob's nose (which is apparently a tradition over there), the dancing, but most of all the kindhearted and loving people!
Rob and Laura, thank you so much for letting us capture your wedding day! We enjoyed everything so much but most of all the two of you! You are so good together. Love you!
